Hardworking City of Logan students get helping hand

Ten City of Logan students were today awarded with tertiary bursaries thanks to Logan City Council and local businesses

Ten City of Logan students have been given a helping hand with the cost of their planned university studies.

Logan City Council has partnered with several local businesses to provide bursaries of $5,000, over three years, through the City of Logan Tertiary Educational Bursaries program.

Mayor Jon Raven said the bursaries would help local students pay for textbooks and technology while they found their feet.

“When you walk out of the school gates for the last time, there’s a lot of uncertainty about what the future might bring,” Mayor Raven said.

“It’s a big wide world out there and we know Logan’s school leavers will make their mark whether they choose go to uni, enter the workforce or take on a trade.

“We’re proud to get behind those who’ve enrolled in a degree with some financial support.

“It’s important they start out on the right foot with things like textbooks and technology, so they can focus on what really matters.”
