Anti-hooning devices for Chambers Flat Road

The Logan City Council upgrade of the section of Chambers Flat Road from Kings Way to Mt Lindesay Highway has become dangerous for the public with frequent hooning and burnouts. This is concentrated on the intersections along this road. This is a Logan City Council created issue that needs to be addressed for public safety.

Current solutions of cameras and occasional police patrols are not enough to curb the issue. Cameras do not work as the offenders remove number plates and Police have higher priorities than hooning.

It is only a matter of time before someone is injured or killed by this reckless behaviour.

Action required in response to this issue:

Logan City Council to install anti-hooning devices at all intersections of Chambers Flat Road from Kings Way to Mt Lindesay Highway. This could include traffic islands, anti-hoon bars, surface treatments that shred tyres of cars doing burnouts or other solutions.
