This petition requests that Beenleigh waste and recycling facility remain open and that the relevant council authorities instead invest in upgrading and expanding waste management facilities in the local area.
Action required in response to this issue:
Rather than closing the facility, the petition calls on council to:
- Retain the Beenleigh waste and recycling facility as an operational site.
- Upgrade and modernise the facility to improve recycling capability, traffic flow, and environmental performance.
- Expand waste management infrastructure in the Logan region to meet the needs of the area’s rapidly growing population.
