Request Council to Partner with RecycleSmart

Petitions express the views of the Principal petitioner and may not represent the views of Council.

Current recycling services provided by Council are limited in what can be recycled. The remainder becomes landfill, which is becoming increasingly constrained by land space and community views of waste. There is now viable alternatives available to Council to improve recycling participation.

RecycleSmart is able to partner with council to increase recycling pathways and reduce landfill. This program includes options for:

  • electronic waste
  • soft plastics
  • clothes
  • kitchenware
  • bedding
  • packaging
  • appliances
  • and more.

 

Action required in response to this issue:

This petition seeks to ask Council to sign up to the RecycleSmart program services to reduce landfill and overall waste management costs.
