The fields 2, 3 and 4 at Rochedale Rovers FC (Underwood Park) are used every week by hundreds of local players, families, and spectators, many of whom spend long hours at training sessions, weekend fixtures, and community events. Despite the high level of activity, there are no toilet facilities within a reasonable distance of the junior fields, the nearest toilet facilities (100 metres - 300 metres away) are at the clubhouse across unpathed and unlit grounds.
This significant distance creates ongoing accessibility and safety concerns, particularly for children who may need to leave the fields unsupervised, elderly community members who face difficulty walking long distances, and individuals with mobility challenges who are often unable to access the facilities at all.
The absence of nearby amenities not only impacts comfort and convenience but also raises legitimate safety risks, as parents are forced to choose between leaving children unattended or missing part of the game or activity.
Upgraded, well-placed facilities would directly support community wellbeing, encourage greater participation, and ensure the grounds are inclusive and accessible for all.
