Having vital stormwater infrastructure provided by Logan City Council is a basic legislated service and every residents property should be supported by functional stormwater infrastructure to reduce flood risk. A review of Logan City Council Stormwater Infrastructure Maps has highlighted in areas of flood risk these maps are highly inaccurate, with mapped infrastructure being non-existent or poorly maintained. https://www.arcgis.com/apps/mapviewer/index.html?layers=58e225f66ff746f4806e54c5ce51a54f Enquiries with Logan City Council Officers have not been resolved and refuse to listen to residents concerns that this directly correlates to overland flow and flood risks.
Action required in response to this issue.
Calling on Councillors to direct a full and independent review of mapped Stormwater Infrastructure against existing infrastructure, and ascertain. The impact to residents from flooding and overland flow. Where there is issues with the existing infrastructure, a prioritised program of works be undertaken to install stormwater infrastructure that is able to convey anticipated water flows without impacting upon residents properties.
