Your first step is to ensure you have planning permission.

We will assess your application and ask for more information if your application is incomplete.
We may then arrange to inspect the premises to assist in making a decision. Once satisfied the premises complies, we will approve your application with conditions you must continue to meet.
If you wish to change or expand your footpath dining area, you will need to first contact us to discuss your proposal. To make changes you may need a licence amendment and to confirm you can still meet planning requirements.

If you are taking over a business that already has a footpath dining permit, you will need to apply to get that permit in your name.
Fill in an Application for new licence outdoor dining(PDF, 432KB) form, pay the appropriate fee then wait until you have the new permit in your name to start using the tables and chairs on the footpath.
