The Logan Youth Action Group (LYAG) is made up of young people aged 14 to 24 years old who live, work or study in the City of Logan and are passionate about making a positive difference in the local community.
The LYAG is a space where young people are heard and take action about the things that are important to them, with the support of Logan City Council.

Headspace Youth Reference Group

Where: Headspace Meadowbrook, 260 Loganlea Road, Meadowbrook

Youth Reference Group is made up of diverse group of young people of various cultures and backgrounds from the age of 16 and over, that are passionate about advocating for youth mental health services within the community. The youth reference group provide a youth voice and perspective in the centre, assist with events and activities as well as lead special projects and receive a wide range of training.

Multicultural Youth Queensland (MyQ) Youth Council

Multicultural Youth Queensland (MyQ) is a youth-led initiative of Access Community Services Ltd. As the Queensland service delivery and peak body representing multicultural youth issues, MyQ works in partnership with young people, non-government and government organisations to create a consistent approach to addressing the unique needs of multicultural young people.

PCYC Youth Management Teams (YMT)

Where: Logan City PCYC, Beenleigh PCYC, Crestmead PCYC

A social leadership group who discuss local issues and then implement ways to support these issues. The program aims to group the participants leadership skills through volunteering, resume/job help, attending state programs, Duke of Ed, etc.

Each YMT's purpose varies slightly with aims and objectives. Participation is the YMT's are by invitation only, however referrals and suggestions can be made.

Street Union Street University

Where: Street Unit, 21 Station Road, Logan Central

The Street Union is made up of existing Street University participants generally between the ages of 14 to18 year olds. These young people take ownership over setting the culture at Street University as well as taking part in the general operations of the site (i.e. hiring workshop facilitators; running workshops; running events; engaging new visitors etc.)

Junior Quota (JQ) is for high school aged students who want to volunteer their time to make a difference in the local community.

Logan Together Action Group (Membership group)

When: Bi-monthly on 3rd Thursday of the month
Where: Logan Together Office, Griffith University, Meadowbrook
Time: 9:30am to 12:00 noon

The intention of the Logan Together Action Group is for partner agencies to share information via presentation and facilitated discussion that focusses on two key questions and a call to action:

  1. Where does this challenge or opportunity fit within the Logan Together Roadmap?
  2. What can we do about it together to achieve the outcomes community has identified?

The Action Group can assist the Logan Together Leadership Table to identify priorities of community through listening to and holding up community voice.

Logan Integrated Service Response (ISR)

When: Fourth Thursday of each month (January to November)

The role of Logan ISR Meeting is to provide strategic direction, learnings and information as the multiagency meeting of partnerships in the Integrated Service Response for Domestic and Family Violence in the Logan City community. These meetings set out to provide agency updates, reform information, case reflection and a forum for learning and working through local level systemic/practice issues to ensure we are all working to build community awareness, prevention, early intervention, high risk and long-term post-crisis supports to victims and their children while holding perpetrators to account and in view

South West Local Level Alliance

The South West Local Level Alliance is a multi-agency network of community service providers established as part of the Family and Child Connect (FaCC) Initiative. The SWLA catchment aligns with the Browns Plains Child Safety Centre and includes Browns Plains, Crestmead, Marsden, Logan Village, Chambers Flat and Yarrabilba. The main purpose of the SWLA is to improve local access to high quality services for families to help them safely care for their children.

The Amputees & Families Support Group Qld

We provide peer support pre and post amputation to individuals, their family, friends and carers as well as health and wellbeing workshops throughout the year to empower people to manage their own health, fitness and wellbeing which includes the local community.
