Neighbour Day

Save the date for Neighbour Day on Sunday 29 March 2026.
Neighbour Day is Relationships Australia’s annual day of action, held on the last Sunday of March. It's a time for people across Australia to connect with those around them and strengthen local relationships.
Neighbour Day gives us a reason to reach out - but the real impact comes from the everyday moments that follow. Being a good neighbour can happen any day of the year. It’s about making small, meaningful connections that help people feel welcome, supported and included.
Why Neighbour Day matters in Logan
Logan is home to people from many cultures, backgrounds and life experiences. Neighbour Day is a simple way to celebrate this diversity and remind us that connection starts close to home.
When neighbours know each other, communities feel safer, stronger and more welcoming. A friendly chat, a shared activity or a simple checkin can make a real difference to someone’s sense of belonging.
How you can take part
There’s no right or wrong way to celebrate Neighbour Day. Big or small, every action helps build connection.
You might choose to:
- host a community event that’s open to everyone
- organise a small get-together with neighbours in your street or local park
- check in on someone nearby
- finally introduce yourself to a neighbour you’ve been meaning to meet.
You can celebrate on Sunday 29 March, or on another day that works best for you.
You can also take part by attending a Neighbour Day event in your local area. Going along to an event is a great way to meet new people, feel more connected, and enjoy time with others in your community.
Resources to help you connect and get involved
Connecting with neighbours doesn’t have to be complicated. Council has some handy resources to help you get started, including a connection postcard and colouring pages.
