Biosecurity Plan
The City of Logan Biosecurity Plan(PDF, 3MB) describes how we will manage specific pests in Logan.
The plan covers 223 pest plants and animals, from foxes through to cat’s claw creeper, and explains what we will do to manage their impact on our environment.
In Queensland, the Biosecurity Act 2014 says that all Queenslanders have a ‘general biosecurity obligation’. This means that everyone is responsible for managing pest plants and animals that:
- are under their control
- they know about or should reasonably be expected to know about.
Logan City Council’s Biosecurity Surveillance Program(PDF, 601KB) focuses on invasive plants and animals that are restricted or prohibited invasive biosecurity matter outlined in the City of Logan Biosecurity Plan.
The purpose of the program is to monitor compliance under the Biosecurity Act 2014 regarding management of invasive biosecurity matter, confirm the presence and extent of invasive biosecurity matter, promote best practice management and advice and information aimed at enhancing community awareness of biosecurity matter.
