Volunteering opportunities

We welcome volunteers of every range of skills and ability, as each person may be able to bring something new to the centre. If interested in volunteering, please come into the centre or email us at hello@bethaniacommunity.org.au.

Bethania Community Centre is seeking volunteers for its Have a Chat Café project. The purpose of the Have a Chat Café is to give a safe and welcoming environment for people of all abilities to come and fulfill some work experience to be able to obtain paid work down the track, it is also there to provide a means for the community to be able to come and have a tea or coffee and snack at a gold coin donation per item price/affordable outing price. Requirements - Blue Card.

Gardening volunteer

Roles and responsibilities

Our centre garden and grounds need regular maintenance and care. Tasks include:

weeding
watering
care of potted plants and centre raised garden beds

Skills we’re looking for:

excellent communication skills
ability to talk to people from all walks of life
the ability to work independently, take initiative and multitask.

Days and times as negotiated, up to 15 hours per week. Relevant orientation will be provided to successful candidates.

General centre maintenance

Our Centre requires maintenance as required. Tasks include:

minor repairs and maintenance
alerting centre management to all maintenance issues
