We have secured a joint funding commitment from the Queensland Government South East Queensland Community Stimulus Program to continue the project. We are waiting on works to be completed by Energex and NBN, then we will be back in touch with the community with project timeframes.

Project overview

We are designing a project to upgrade sections of High Road, Easterly Street and Old Logan Village Road adjacent to Canterbury College.

The upgrade plans to improve safety around the school and reduce congestion during school drop-off and pick-up times.

The project is now being jointly funded with the Queensland Government South East Queensland Community Stimulus Program.

Project timeline

We will be back in touch with the community once we know project timeframes.

Project features

The project will deliver:

  • new pedestrian priority crossing
  • road resurfacing works and minor road widening
  • new formal new on-road car parking
  • new kerb and channel
  • new footpaths and shared paths
  • alterations to line marking and signage
  • relocating some existing services
  • new street lighting
  • tree or vegetation trimming and/or removal to allow for the shared path
  • reinstatement of gardens and landscaping upon completion.

Project benefits

This upgrade will deliver a range of benefits including:

  • easing congestion during school drop-off and pick-up times
  • creating safer active travel opportunities for all users, especially students
  • improving road drainage.
