Logan Planning Scheme

Current Planning Scheme

The Logan Planning Scheme helps us manage growth, plan for a sustainable future and guide the way land is used and developed in Logan.

The current version commenced on 1 July 2025 (Logan Planning Scheme 2015 V9.2). The Summary of Changes will tell you what’s changed in this version. You can also see Amendments adopted and commenced for a list of all amendments in this and previous versions.

The flood related provisions and hazard mapping of the Logan Planning Scheme are currently affected by the Temporary Local Planning Instrument (TLPI) No. 1/2024, which commenced on 6 March 2025. To view the TLPI document and maps please see the TLPI folder. To learn more about flooding in Logan visit our Flood page.

The Logan Planning Scheme does not apply to the priority development areas of Yarrabilba and Greater Flagstone. Development in these areas is managed by Economic Development Queensland.

Logan Plan (proposed new planning scheme)

Council’s draft new planning scheme, Logan Plan, will help us better manage our city’s growth, provide more housing choice, improve design outcomes, manage natural hazards and create economic opportunities.

Our draft plan is being reviewed by the Queensland Government to make sure it aligns with regional and state interests, plans and policies. When we have the Minister’s approval for public consultation, we will invite everyone to have their say (later in 2025).
