Enclosure requirements

Preventing your animals from being able to escape your property is an important part of being a responsible pet owner. Enclosures should be in a clean and tidy condition at all times.

Enclosures must:

  • be at least 90 centimetres from the boundary of the property
  • be at least 10 metres from a neighbouring dwelling (not including roosters and peafowl)
  • be at least 30 metres from a neighbouring dwelling (for roosters and peafowl)
  • have a minimum area of 1 square metre per bird.
