Have you found a lost animal?

If you have found a cat or dog, please take it to your local vet or our Animal Management Centre at 213 Queens Road, Kingston.

  • Local Vet's can scan the pet for a microchip to find and contact their owner.
  • Animal Management Centre - if the pet has a registration tag we can contact their owner. We check all animals for tags and microchips and post their photo on our Impounded animals page.

If the animal is dangerous, please contact 07 3412 3412 to arrange collection. Our after-hours service responds to emergencies only.

Sick or injured wildlife or animals

We do not accept sick or injured animals or wildlife. If you find sick or injured animals or wildlife, call the RSPCA Wildlife Ambulance on 1300 ANIMAL (1300 264 625).

Pet surrenders

If you are a Logan resident and you are wanting to surrender your pet, please email council@logan.qld.gov.au to make an appointment.

After-hours holding pens

If you find a cat or dog outside of our business hours, you can use our after-hours holding pens as a safe place to put the cat or dog.

The after-hours holding pens are NOT suitable for sick or injured animals or wildlife. If you find sick or injured animals or wildlife, please see Sick or injured wildlife for more information.

All animals put into the pens are:

  • checked for registration tags so we can contact their owner
  • checked for microchip details
  • put on our Impounded Animals page.
