Logan Reserve Road and School Road Intersection Upgrade

Logan Reserve Road and School Road intersection

Latest update

February 2026

Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2026 and is expected to take approximately 3 months, subject to site and weather conditions.

To maximise student safety and minimise impacts during school hours, most works will be undertaken at night.

Overview

We are upgrading and putting signals at the intersection at Logan Reserve Road and School Road in Logan Reserve, with support from the Australian Government's Black Spot Program.

The Black Spot Program was introduced as part of the Australian Government's commitment to reduce the risk of crashes. The program targets locations where crashes have occurred or are at risk of happening.

We are committed to improving road safety across Logan. The upgrade will help deliver a safer intersection by introducing a signalised intersection to formalise when vehicles can go, stop and turn, and introducing pedestrian crossing at the traffic lights.

Timeline

Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2026 and is expected to take approximately 3 months, subject to site and weather conditions.

We will provide further details, including timing and what to expect, before works commence. We will communicate directly with residents and Logan Reserve State School.

Features

To make the location safer, we will:

  • install traffic signals to formalise when vehicles can go, stop and turn
  • install signalised pedestrian crossings at the intersection and remove the lollypop school crossing areas
  • resurface and restore the road where needed
  • update line markings, including longer turning lanes to improve traffic flow

Benefits

The intersection upgrade will improve safety and traffic flow. The benefits include:

  • reduced congestion during school drop-off and pick-up times
  • quicker and more reliable travel times
  • safer and more accessible environment for drivers, pedestrians and students.
