Overview

We’re upgrading the intersection at Browns Plains Road and Waller Road in Browns Plains, with support from the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program.

The Black Spot Program was introduced as part of the Australian Government's commitment to reduce the risk of crashes. The program target's locations where crashes have occurred or are at risk of happening.

Data shows that this section of road continues to experience traffic incidents and crashes.

We are committed to improving road safety across Logan. This upgrade will help deliver a safer intersection by reducing the risk of potential crashes.

Timeline

Detailed design of the intersection upgrade is complete.

Construction will be from mid-August to mid-October, weather and site conditions permitting.

Features

The design includes:

Extending the existing right turn lane on Browns Plains Road towards Waller Road
Installing warning signs on the eastern approach of Browns Plains Road driving towards the Waller Road intersection
Upgrading of traffic signals for west bound traffic on Browns Plains Road
Installing raised pedestrian crossings at all four slip lanes
Removing trees for better visibility
Upgrading line and pavement markings
Installing new pedestrian crossing
Refreshing line marking at existing pedestrian crossing
Installing signage to indicate the left turn from Parkland Avenue into the Service Road.
