Ison Road Pavement Rehabilitation

We are rehabilitating and resurfacing Ison Road, Greenbank, to provide a safer and smoother road network for residents and motorists.

Project overview

Major works on Ison Road will begin late January 2026.

This complex project will take place in 2 stages:

  • Stage 1: Significant road excavation (removal of existing road) and pavement rehabilitation (reinstatement of new road base) of part of the road, from Ison Park to property number 69-75
  • Stage 2: Shoulder repairs and resurfacing of the entire length of the road.

Stage 1 traffic management

To help manage the flow of traffic during “Stage 1”, a temporary one-way traffic flow system will be in place in the work zone. This arrangement avoids the need for a full road closure and is designed to reduce traffic queuing on Thompson Road.

Vehicles will be directed eastbound from Backwater Road to Bombala Road through this one-way traffic flow system. Westbound traffic must detour via Thompson Road during “Stage 1” of works.

Ison Road Greenbank - One-way Detour

Residents travelling southbound on Goodna Road, turning right onto Thompson Road, are encouraged to complete a U-turn at the Ison Road roundabout to avoid queuing.

Project timing

The project is scheduled to start in late January 2026. “Stage 1” works are expected to take 2 months to complete, with all project works expected to finish by late April 2026.

All timeframes are subject to weather and construction conditions.
