Construction is due to start mid-July 2026 with an estimate completion date of May 2027.

Logan Water are planning to upgrade a water main along Bell Street and Queen Street.

Construction works will upgrade sections of Ann Street, Bell Street and Queen Street. We will communicate with residents, motorists and business owners on progress, including any details on timing and what to expect as the project progresses.

Overview

The design of the Jimboomba Local Road Upgrades (Stage 3) was completed in 2024. It includes changes to sections of Ann Street, Bell Street and Queen Street.

These upgrades mean smoother roads with street lighting, new kerb and channel and improved roadside verges for pedestrians.

This project is being delivered under the Local Roads, Stormwater and Kerb and Channel Upgrade program.

Features

The design includes:

  • underground service relocations
  • stormwater drainage upgrades
  • kerb and channel installation
  • road rehabilitation and resurfacing
  • installation of streetlights
  • new driveway entrances
  • finishing works including landscaping, signage and line marking.

Timing

The Jimboomba Local Road Upgrades commenced in 2021 and is being delivered in stages across multiple streets.

We will communicate with residents and businesses before works begin to let you know timings and what you can expect.

Stage Status Locations
Stage 1 Complete Sections of South Street, Nichols Street, John Street, Hill Street and Mary Street.
Stage 2 Complete Sections of Anders Street, Ann Street, Cross Street, Manning Street and Spring Street. Stage 2 involved converting Spring Street to a cul-de-sac. This was to accommodate The Department of Transport Main Roads's (TMR's) upgrade plans for Brisbane Street.
Stage 3 Design complete.

Construction is scheduled for mid-July 2026 to March 2027, subject to weather and construction conditions.

Impacts

As the project progresses to construction some temporary changes can be expected.

Temporary impacts

  • Changed traffic conditions including reduced speed limits, road or lane closures and detours.
  • Increased noise, dust, and vibration.
  • Temporary loss of street parking or driveway access.
  • Temporary footpath closures.

What are we are doing?

  • Traffic controllers will be available during working hours.
  • Electronic signs will be installed.
  • Lane or path detours may be in place.
  • Affected properties will be notified in advance of changes to parking and driveway access, footpath or bus stop relocations, or temporary water, sewer or power interruptions.
