Springwood Road and Donna Avenue Intersection Upgrade

Construction is now underway, with completion expected by December 2026.
Donna Ave will be closed to construct the new raised crossing and is planned to reopen to traffic by the end of the September school holidays
The slip lane into Lorimer Street off Springwood Road will also be closed for the duration of the project.

Overview
As part of Council’s Major Intersections Upgrade Program, we are upgrading the intersection of Springwood Road and Donna Avenue. This project aims to improve pedestrian access, traffic signalling, turning lanes and road surfaces.
These upgrades will enhance motorist and pedestrian safety on our local road network.
Timing
Construction of the intersection is anticipated to commence in 2026. Construction details will be provided as they become available.

Impacts
Initial service location work is low impact. However, due to the nature of the work, some temporary disruptions can be expected, such as:
- Donna Avenue, temporary closure
- Lorimer Street westbound slip lane closed
- Changed traffic conditions
- Motorists and pedestrian detours
- Footpath closures
- Some noise, dust and vibration.
