We have a range of programs that focus on increasing older people’s awareness of healthy lifestyle options, reducing social isolation and encouraging our seniors to continue to connect and be involved with their community.
The Seniors digital guide(PDF, 15MB) is a handbook created by the Logan Youth Action Group to support our seniors living in Logan to get online. The Seniors digital guide is a user-friendly platform, whether you’re just getting started with technology or looking to strengthen your technology skills, this guide offers step-by-step tutorials and practical tools to make technology accessible and enjoyable.
The guide includes content such as how to be protected online from scams and similar, how to create an email address, use Google Maps, Google and other features, and most importantly staying connected with families and friends by making phone calls, taking photos/videos and exploring the community activities available to them.
The guide provides seniors with the tools they need to stay connected, independent and informed of today’s fast-paced digital world.
As a contribution to the development of our community, the Logan Youth Action Group hopes this guide will be beneficial to our seniors!

Everyone is vulnerable to the effects of a heatwave, but people aged over 65 are at greater risk than others. It is important to stay healthy and take steps to reduce your risk. During a heatwave, keep as cool as possible and drink plenty of water.
To find relief from a heatwave you can:
- visit your local library. Our libraries are free, comfortable and air-conditioned. Find your closest Library location
- enjoy some artwork at the air-conditioned Logan Art Gallery
- visit your local Community centre to see if they offer air-conditioned drop-in services.
