Using our waste and recycling facilities

Proof of identity

Our facilities have different fees for residents and non-residents.

Logan residents and ratepayers must provide acceptable proof of residency:

  • valid driver’s licence with Logan address on the back or
  • Photo ID that matches a current rates notice or utility bill with Logan address.

If proof of residency cannot be confirmed, non-resident fees will apply.

If you are a ratepayer who lives outside Logan, you will need to provide a copy of your rates notice (paper or digital), supported by photo identification.

If you live outside Logan or are unable to provide proof of residency, you are still welcome to use our waste disposal facilities but please understand you will be charged the non-Logan resident fees.

Commercial operators are not required to show identification. Commercial fees apply.

Payment methods

You can pay for waste disposal by:

  • cash
  • EFTPOS
  • cheque (endorsed with contact details on reverse)
  • credit card (Visa and Mastercard)
  • waste vouchers.

Note:

  • We cannot accept debit or credit card payments over the phone.
  • All waste fees listed are GST inclusive.

Waste accounts

Businesses that regularly use the Browns Plains or Carbrook Waste and Recycling Facilities can apply for a waste account.

Please be aware that it can take 3 to 4 weeks for your application to be approved.

Other conditions

Please note when using the waste and recycling facilities:

  • Council actively monitors customer transactions to ensure that commercial waste is not being falsely claimed as domestic waste.
  • Council’s domestic waste vouchers cannot be used for commercial waste.
  • Council reserves the right to refuse to accept waste at any of its facilities and direct commercial or hazardous waste to be taken to an alternative facility.
  • Council may request that waste is presented in an acceptable manner for disposal e.g. bagged or wrapped.
