Future New Beith Road Extension

Latest update – June 2026

Geotechnical works are being undertaken as part of the preliminary design process for this project.

Our contractor will be onsite between 29 June and 13 July to carry out these works.

The works are scheduled to take up to 8 days following mobilisation, weather and site conditions permitting.

The works will be restricted to the road reserve / Council land.

We will continue to provide updates to the community as the project progresses.

Project overview

With our city's population set to increase by more than 50 per cent by 2041, improving our road network is one of the ways Logan City Council is preparing for the future.

As part of this, we are planning a long-term upgrade and extension to New Beith Road, from Pub Lane, New Beith to the State Government's Flagstone Priority Development Area (PDA).

Project timing

Construction is anticipated to begin in 2030's, pending detailed design, funding and property acquisitions.

Project features

  • Upgrade of the existing New Beith Road including staging for interim and ultimate design
  • New intersections including signalised and other priority-controlled treatments
  • Drainage upgrades including cross-road drainage, table drains and kerb and channel
  • Safety and barriers for vehicles and pedestrians
  • Pedestrian and cyclist facilities
  • Service relocations
  • Landscaping and lighting
  • Relocation of existing school bus stop

Please note, the concept plan is subject to change as detailed design progresses.

Project benefits

The upgrade will deliver a range of benefits, including:

  • improved traffic flow
  • quicker and more reliable travel times
  • major north-south arterial link connecting the Greater Flagstone PDA to the greater network
  • a safer road environment for vehicles as traffic increases.

Land requirements

As part of our long-term planning for the New Beith Road extension and upgrade, some land will need to be acquired to widen sections of New Beith Road.

We aim to minimise property impacts as much as possible.
