Latest update

Main works are anticipated to start in late September 2026, weather and site conditions pending.

Project overview

We are changing the layout of the Homestead Drive, Teviot Road, and Glynton Road junctions to create a new signalised intersection. This new intersection improves safety, helps traffic move better and supports growth in the area.

This upgrade supports the new Teviot Road extension and future growth in the Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area (PDA).

Project timing

Main works start late September 2026.

Electronic message boards along the road will provide updates as works progress.

Early works took place in early to mid 2026. These works included:

  • vegetation clearing
  • dam backfilling
  • geotechnical investigations, including truck‑mounted drill rigs
  • removing and replacing fences along new property boundaries
  • moving some services such as water, electricity, telecommunications and gas.

Project features

The upgrade includes:

  • realigning Homestead Drive, Teviot Road and Glynton Road to form a new, signalised intersection with additional turning and through lanes
  • a left-turn slip lane from Homestead Drive onto Teviot Road
  • a connection with the new Teviot Road extension to the south
  • a new centre median, on road bike lanes and line marking
  • concrete paths on part of Homestead Drive
  • vegetation clearing, relocation of water, electrical, telecommunication and gas services.

Project benefits

The upgrade provides:

  • a safer signalised intersection
  • better traffic flow and connectivity
  • improved access to Flagstone Central, nearby businesses and the future Riverbend community
  • improved road drainage
  • new footpaths and bike lanes to support active transport
  • more reliable travel times as the community grows.

Project impacts

As we move into construction to realign the intersection and upgrade stormwater infrastructure, traffic management will be in place during working hours and some delays are expected due to lane closures.

We aim to minimise disruption however some short-term impacts are unavoidable such as:

  • frequent truck movements
  • noise, dust, and vibration
  • reduced speed limits
  • temporary lane closures
  • temporary restricted road and driveway access
  • localised services disruptions.

For residents located within the work zone, notice will be given for any service disruption or driveway access impacts.

We know delay are an inconvenience, so we thank-you for being courteous and respectful while we work to upgrade this important intersection.
