Homestead Drive and Teviot Road Intersection Upgrade

Early works will start in the first quarter of 2026, with minimal impact to road users.

Main works are anticipated to start from mid-2026, weather and site conditions pending.

Project overview

We are changing the layout of the Homestead Drive, Teviot Road, and Glynton Road junctions to create a new signalised intersection. This new intersection improves safety, helps traffic move better and supports growth in the area.

This upgrade supports the new Teviot Road extension and future growth in the Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area (PDA).

Project timing

Early works start in the first quarter of 2026. These works include:

vegetation clearing
dam backfilling
geotechnical investigations, including truck‑mounted drill rigs
removing and replacing fences along new property boundaries
moving some services such as water, electricity, telecommunications and gas.

Most early works take place on road verges. There may be short periods of traffic control during geotechnical investigations.

We will update residents and businesses before main works begin so you know the timing and what to expect.

Project features

The upgrade includes:

realigning Homestead Drive, Teviot Road and Glynton Road to form a new, signalised intersection with additional turning and through lanes
a left-turn slip lane from Homestead Drive onto Teviot Road
a connection with the new Teviot Road extension to the south
a new centre median, on road bike lanes and line marking
concrete paths on part of Homestead Drive
vegetation clearing, relocation of water, electrical, telecommunication and gas services.
