World Environment Day calendar competition

Between January and April each year we host a primary school poster competition for World Environment Day.

This creative competition gets students thinking about nature and how to protect it. The competition aligns with school curriculum and includes links for teachers.

2022 competition

The 2022 competition theme will be ‘Our Green City’.

It will open on 28 January 2022 and close on 31 March 2022.

  • For more information, please download our World Environment Day 2022 information pack (PDF 1.41 MB).
  • The information pack includes a fact sheet, terms and conditions of the competition, entry forms for schools to submit posters and the school curriculum links.
  • Schools select their five best entries from each grade level and Council then chooses the 13 lucky winners.

Winners will be announced at Logan Eco Action Festival (LEAF).

World Environment Day calendar

Each year our World Environment Day calendar displays the winning posters from the previous year.

Student winners receive a prize and a certificate. Highly commended students will also receive prizes. All registered students and participating schools go into a draw for a prize.

Copies of the 2022 World Environment Day 'Threatened Species of Logan' calendar are now available for free at our Libraries and Customer Service Centres.
